The only way for black to get out of check is with a queen sacrifice, however whites takes the queen and it is mate. The palette was inspired by a van Gogh print.
I like the reflections on the front green tiles...broken up nicely! The painting of the form of the white Queen is done well as well. ~~the black Knight... his expression is priceless! ...as if saying to himself: "yep, da Queen's gotta go, she weren't no good for no one nohow anyways! ~yep, too persnickety for mah taste, ~smelled funny too."
