#126: A Tart Conversation

6" x 6" oil on canvas

Bid on this painting

I am not sure about this composition. The focal point was supposed to be centered in the middle of the group, but I think that the attention ends up at the lower right. I really laid on the paint this time in order to keep the yellows pure.

# 123: Plumstruck

6" x 6" oil on canvas

I decided to work with some complementary colors this time. I am liking some of the lines in this painting. The plums however eluded me.

115: Orchid Burst

6" x 6" oil on canvas

Buy this painting

A friend cut me a couple of beautiful orchids from her garden. The colors were very subtle and so I found it a bit difficult to get the form. It took a lot of squinting.

# 114: Chaperone

6" x 6" oil on canvas
I started this painting last week and was about halfway done when I realized that I was just too sick to continue and by the time I got back to it had completely dried. I started by wiping the whole thing with medium. It was quite a different feel working this way and I managed to keep more of the under-glaze showing through. I would like to achieve this look more often when working alla prima.
