# 314: Home Turf

12" x 9" oil on canvas

Another abstract. Once again, I am unable to judge it, except that his one has been hanging on my wall and it speaks to. Wish I knew the language it was speaking though and that it could tell me if it was done or not and if it not what to do to go about finishing it.

  1. I generally judge most of my abstract work within the same parameters I judge my representational images. And that is: are my contrasts satisfying to linger with? And did I achieve the variety of contrasts I intended? ~~This of course means I had to have some goal in mind in terms of the overall energy I wanted to achieve.
For me, this piece has satisfying shapes, colors and juxtaposition but needs attending value contrasts to encourage me to travel throughout the painting.
Abstract doesn't have to be flat.
    Even if it wants to.
