I am still working in the oils. it seems to be taking me a lot longer to complete a painting. it is difficult to keep the painting fresh because my palatte gets muddy quickly and I am not good about keeping multiple brushes going at the same time.
The face and hair are resolved nicely without over~fretting the brushwork, hard to keep so simple and simplicity is so vital in drawing youths... The somewhat unresolved animals actually function as an eye leading device by bringing the viewer to the most focused area -the head. The hand is nicely handled as well. cool. I wanna play!
The anatomy of the boy is wonderful, Alice. The subtle shifts of color in the face, hand, and hair are masterful. I especially like the highlight on the lower lip. All those animals! Yikes! The T-rex appears to be the only one putting up a fight. We all know what happens to him.
gorgeous, I like your take on the theme, colours are great too
