# 213: Two Bulbs

6" x 6" oil on canvas

This was painted for a daily Paint works challenge. Light bulbs are challenging, because of their translucency. I also found the purple background color difficult to work out. I think that it end up with nice visual flow...except for the left corner of the glass. Why are such things so elusive while you are painting but so clear when you see it on the computer screen?

  1. I like the solidity of the bulb on the table.
That foreground area is nicely shiny.

I think it not just the computer screen. I think it's the change in size and view, if you take anything out of it's context you'll see it differently. So seeing things newly on a computer screen will enlighten, and so will see it in print, or in a mirror reflection, or on a critique board in a classroom. It's very important to view it differently throughout the creation process.
